Chance the Rapper has canceled his Coachella performance after being admitted to the hospital with an undisclosed condition. CTR’s reps broke the news over Twitter on Sunday afternoon.
On Friday evening, Chance had tweeted about feeling sick after performing at the Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas, but had two days off to recover before his closing-night Coachella set. Two days later, however, messages appeared on the account signed by Chance’s management. “On behalf of @chancetherapper and our entire team- We sincerely regret to have to cancel our 2nd weekend at coachella. -CTR MGMT,” the first said. “Chance fell ill on Friday night & was admitted to the hospital today- Doctors & family are with him & he is expected to make a full recovery. Thank you for the prayers and support during this time, Chance, his team and family deeply appreciate it.” An Instagram post showing the rapper lying in a hospital bed and hooked up to IVs was later made, with the caption “Pray for my boy chance.”
