Watch: Vance Joy, Violent Soho Headline Highlights From Triple J’s One Night Stand

Illy’s hip hop version of ‘Riptide’ featuring Vance Joy topped a long list of highlights from Triple J’s One Night Stand.

Surprise guest Vance Joy, aka James Keogh, joined Aussie rapper Illy onstage at the Triple J one-day festival held in regional Mildura over the weekend for a special version of the hit single ‘Riptide’.

“I had no idea what to expect, I knew that Illy gets a crowd going pretty crazy, I knew I was walking in something pretty epic and yeah it was amazing,” Keogh said of performing in front of the hip hop crowd.

Joined by Magic Dirt’s Raúl Sánchez, Violent Soho rocked Mildura with a collection of tracks spanning back to early music from 2008 and the superb live version of the single ‘Covered In Chrome’.

RÜFÜS provided a number of dance highlights including their mix up of Foals’ ‘My Number’ and Booka Shade’s ‘Charlotte’ as well as ‘Take Me’.

The 11th annual gold coin donation appreciation event featured a packed lineup full of home grown talent including WZRDKID, The Jungle Giants and Dan Sultan. Last year’s event brought Flume, The Rubens and Ball Park Music to Dubbo, NSW.
