A post made by Lily Allen on her Instagram page has led to a group of police officers being investigated.
Lily Allen uploaded a photo of herself being “handcuffed” by Australian police officers as she was escorted through the Gold Coast Airport in Queensland, seemingly in an attempt to dupe her followers into believing that she had been arrested. However, the police officers who helped her with her prank are now under investigation, with a spokesperson for the federal police telling the Guardian: “At her request, the members involved placed open handcuffs on Allen for a photo opportunity. It appears the members involved were caught up in the moment and standard protocols were breached.”
Lily removed the post, which was captioned “#uhoh”, but not before it had reached 7,700 likes on the social image sharing site.

Gold Coast City Councillor Dawn Crichlow spoke to Fairfax radio regarding the incident, saying: “I don’t appreciate a photo of … police playing around with their handcuffs. It’s bad that the federal police allowed this to happen and they should be hauled over the coals.
“Just a bit of fun would have been to give her the police cap and have a photo taken like that, that would have been fun.”
