Sony’s next big PS4 exclusive is just around the corner. Arriving on October 7th, Evolution Studios’ Driveclub is a racing game unlike anything Sony’s first party has seen before. It’s a hybrid racer with an emphasis on speed and beauty. As anticipated as it is, there are a few minor details that many are wondering. Thankfully, a member of the development team decided to tackle these questions today.
Evolution Game Director Paul Rustchynsky has taken to Twitter to confirm some details about the game. He posted:
With #DRIVECLUB having gone gold I get plenty of questions about the install size. We managed to compress it to just ~17GB in the end 🙂
I’ll take that bet. DRIVECLUB’s loading times are amazing. On average about 10 seconds or less on a stock HDD.
You may also be wondering if you can pre-load the PS Plus version. Unfortunately, you can’t, as confirmed by Rustchynsky:
Pre-loads will only be available for the full game.
Driveclub will have 50 cars, 55 tracks, 5 locations, and 50 total events at launch. The free version available to PS Plus subscribers will have about 20% of that content included, with the rest available to unlock at a reduced price.

Driveclub‘s key features are its clubs, which allow for organized social interaction, high fidelity visuals, and a unique take on driving mechanics. If you were a fan of the PGR games on Xbox, Driveclub is just about the only other title you’ll find that strives for the same style of car handling and outdoor racing environments.
