If you’re looking forward to playing Evolve then chances are you’re also looking forward to playing as the Kraken, the Lovecraftian tentacled beast that certainly looks like the most imposing monster players will have to face off against.
If you want to unlock the Kraken then you’re going to have to do some damage with the game’s first playable monster, the Goliath. The Kraken will only be unlocked when you deal a certain amount of damage with your abilities.
The amount of damage you must inflict is as follows:
- Rock Throw: Do 6,400 damage
- Leap Attack: Do 20,400 damage
- Frame Breath: Do 22,000 damage
- Charge Attack: Do 16,800 damage
Players must first learn how to successfully control the Goliath before they can move on to the Kraken, as Evolve developer Turtle Rock Studios states that the Kraken is much more difficult to successfully control, and will only be able to be handled by those who have already mastered the Goliath.
The Evolve alpha is set to his the PS4 and PC today, with those who signed up to it able to jump online for a taster of the game before its release on February 10th, 2015. The game is being pitched as Left 4 Dead with the zombies replaced by hulking monsters, which considering the popularity of the L4D series should bring it a great deal of success.
