It’s Noel Vs. Liam Gallagher Again: Noel Says Liam’s “Making a F***ing Mess of Things”

Noel Gallagher has made a comment about his brother Liam’s rather tumultuous personal life, saying that his former Oasis bandmate is “making a fucking mess of things at the moment”.

Noel’s comments have begun to circulate in the same week that Liam has been fined $5,000 for failing to show up to a child support hearing with Liza Ghorbani for his 22-month-old daughter Gemma, with the singer reportedly claiming that he was suffering with anxiety and depression following the fallout of news that he had committed adultery on his now-estranged wife Nicole Appleton.

A doctor signed the Gallagher brother off last minute as suffering from anxiety and depression, though the court was displeased with the announcement and branded it an “offensive” move.

Speaking to NME magazine about his brother’s well-publicised recent personal problems, Noel said: “He’s making a fucking mess of things at the moment, but we’ve all been there. I’ve been there. Something like that can be a great thing because you get to the bottom and you cleanse yourself of a lot of fucking shit baggage and you start again.

He added: “I’m the kind of person that says ‘Fuck it, take it’ and I’ll start again. And that would be my advice to him.”

Liam recently made the announcement that he had disbanded Beady Eye, though Noel said that he didn’t think that would mark the end of his career. “They’re a fucking great band but they’re not great songwriters”, the elder Gallagher said. “They needed one great song. Not just a hit single, a great fucking tune. But I don’t think he’ll be out of the game forever.”

So it’s not quite like the gnarly brother vs. brother arguments of old, then, but if there’s one thing we know about Liam it’s that he doesn’t take too kindly to Noel commenting on his personal life. We should brace ourselves for a characteristically mouthy response at some point in the near future.
