You needed absolutely no more evidence whatsoever that Alejandro Jodorowsky was a badass. But here’s some anyway, in the form of an exclusive clip from the new documentary, My Life Directed by Nicolas Winding Refn. The film chronicles the production of Refn’s film Only God Forgives, and was directed by Refn’s wife Liz Corfixen.
In this scene, we discover that Nicolas Winding Refn never makes a film without first consulting Alejandro Jodorowsky (the director of Holy Mountain, El Topo and The Dance of Reality) for a tarot card reading. As we discovered in our own exclusive video interview with Alejandro Jodorowsky, the man has no patience for crap and no interest in filmmaking as anything other than an artistic medium. And he gives Refn a small amount of hell for thinking about his career instead of his art.
