This post is going to assume that you’re up to date with Doctor Who, so consider this your SPOILER WARNING!
This season on Doctor Who, the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) made perhaps one of the worst decisions of his life. He spared the life of a young girl named Ashildr (Maisie Williams) and effectively made her an immortal human/alien hybrid. And because of that rash move, Ashildr a.k.a. Lady Me eventually turned on the Doctor and set up in a trap that inadvertently took the life of his beloved companion, Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman).
In the closing moments of last weekend’s penultimate episode of the season, the Doctor emerged from the trap after billions of years and declared that he the hybrid destined to conquer Gallifrey was “me.” But did he mean himself, or Lady Me?
BBC has released a new Doctor Who video with Capaldi that teases the events of the season finale, and confirms that Lady Me will indeed be in the episode. The Doctor even admits that he’s gone too far as a firing squad prepares to execute him. No one seriously expects the Doctor to die in this episode, but his survival may mean that he will once again be in exile from Gallifrey after spending so much time trying to find his lost planet.

There’s a good chance that Jenna Coleman will make one last appearance in this episode as Clara, but probably only in a dream or flashback sequence. But there will be at least one more Doctor Who adventure in 2015, as the annual Christmas special brings back Alex Kingston as River Song. And showrunner Steven Moffat has promised that a full season of Doctor Who will be back in 2016.
