Even if you’re living in Hollywood, you’re not likely to see the stars of your favorite TV series walking down the street. But if you live in Los Angeles, one of the best perks is the annual PaleyFestival that brings together the casts and creators from some of the most popular TV series. Think of it as a Comic-Con on a much more intimate scale, as the Paley Center sponsors a screening of the featured TV series, followed by a roundtable session with the people behind the show.
Over at The Hollywood Reporter, the first participants for the 33rd Annual PaleyFest have been revealed. This year’s PaleyFest will begin on Friday, March 11 with an evening devoted to Fox’s Empire. Series creators Lee Daniels and Danny Strong will be joined by stars Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson, Jussie Smollett, Bryshere Gray, Trai Byers, Grace Gealey, Kaitlin Doubleday, Gabourey Sidibe, and Ta’Rhonda Jones, in addition to executive producer Ilene Chaiken.
The following night, Saturday, March 12 will put the spotlight on Scream Queens, with cast members Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin, Skyler Samuels, Keke Palmer, Billie Lourd, and Niecy Nash. Black-ish will get an early panel on Sunday, March 13 with Anthony Anderson, Tracee Ellis Ross, Yara Shahidi, Marcus Scribner, Miles Brown, Marsai Martin, Kenya Barris, and Jonathan Groff.
On January 19, the PaleyCenter will announce the TV series that will be featured from March 14 to March 19. PaleyFest 2016 will come to a close on Sunday, March 20 with a doubleheader event: Power at 2pm and American Horror Story: Hotel at 7pm.
Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson will be on hand for the Power panel, alongside Omari Hardwick, Lela Loren, Naturi Naughton, Joseph Sikora, and Courtney Kemp Agboh. Although Lady Gaga won the Golden Globe for American Horror Story: Hotel, she will reportedly be skipping this event. But AHS fans shouldn’t feel too disappointed with the lineup of stars coming to PaleyFest: Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Chloe Sevigny, Evan Peters, Wes Bentley, Cheyenne Jackson, and Denis O’Hare.
This year’s PaleyFest will once again be held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. Paley Center members will be able to buy tickets on Thursday, January 14, while non-members will only have to wait until January 15.
