In the final episode of Prison Break, Michael Scofield apparently died…but Fox isn’t going to let that fact get in the way of a Prison Break revival!
At the Television Critics Association press tour, Fox confirmed that the long-rumored Prison Break event series is a go, with both Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell on board to reprise their roles as half-brothers Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows, respectively. Miller and Purcell are currently starring on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, but the news out of Fox suggests that they won’t be back for a potential second season of that series.
A launch date for the new Prison Break miniseries hasn’t been announced, but series creator Paul T. Scheuring is returning alongside Prison Break veterans Neal Moritz, Marty Adelstein, and Dawn Olmstead.

As for the previously rumored 24 revival, Fox ordered a pilot episode for 24: Legacy. Kiefer Sutherland’s Jack Bauer isn’t expected to appear in the new incarnation of 24, nor are any of the previously established characters currently slated to return. Instead, the new series will be about a military hero who goes to CTU for protection, but ends up helping the agency stop a potential terrorist attack on U.S. soil. Howard Gordon, Manny Coto, and Evan Katz will all return as producers of 24: Legacy.
In other news out of the TCA, Fox announced the renewals of Scream Queens and Empire. However, the fate of Sleepy Hollow remains up in the air.
