There was a time when Sarah Wayne Callies’ Sara Trancredi was killed off on Prison Break, only for it to be explained away largely because Lincoln (Dominic Purcell) fell for a trick. But it’s no misdirection this time, because Callies is coming back for Fox’s Prison Break revival miniseries!
Variety is reporting that Callies has finally signed on to the new Prison Break, which will reunite Callies with her former co-stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell. Since Prison Break came to an end in 2009, Callies has starred in The Walking Dead on AMC and in the film The Other Side of the Door, among other projects.
However, there is an inherent problem with the new Prison Break: Miller’s Michael Scofield died at the end of Prison Break: The Final Break. But that death is expected to be retconned in the new miniseries. The story is rumored to follow Sara and Lincoln as they team up to find and rescue Michael after learning that he’s still alive. Amaury Nolasco, Rockmond Dunbar, and Robert Knepper are also reportedly in negotiations to return for the miniseries. Royal Pains star Mark Feuerstein has already signed on to play Sara’s new husband in the revival.
