George Lucas Had Lunch In An Adelaide Food Court And Then Disappeared

About a day ago in a food court far far away, Stars Wars creator George Lucas sat down for what judging by his expression was a rather mediocre lunch.

Choosing the David Jones food court as the sight of snacking, the retired film maker then disappeared faster than a startled Tusken Raider, with reporters from Adelaide’s Rip It Up unable to track down the greying Lucas.

In their defence though, trying to find him in the see of retirees that is the crowd in a department store at 2pm on a Wednesday is about as hard as firing a proton torpedo into an exhaust port without your guidance computer. You can watch them try here:

Currently in town with his wife Mellody Hobson who’s attending a conference in her role as the chair of Dreamworks Animation, according to the Adelaide Advertiser, Lucas looks to have settled into the life of a retiree since selling Lucasfilm to Disney for $4 billion dollars.

Sitting with his physical copy of the paper (with a partially finished crossword we like to imagine) and sporting the kind of classic dad fashion he has for most of his career, where it not for his iconic hair beard and glasses he’d pass for just another grandpa trying to avoid the lunch rush.
