Stephen Amell Talks About Bringing ‘Arrow’ and ‘Supergirl’ Together

There’s one thing you should remember about Arrow star Stephen Amell: the man loves his crossovers. Amell has already guest starred as his heroic alter ego on The Flash and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and he’s the one who pushed to bring in Matt Ryan’s John Constantine after NBC canceled Constantine last year. So don’t act too surprised when Amell says that he wants to crossover his show with Supergirl, the latest DC series on The CW.

Earlier this month, The CW bailed out its parent network by taking Supergirl from CBS and moving production to Vancouver, where all of the other DC shows on The CW are being filmed. And while a previous crossover between Supergirl and The Flash revealed that the two shows took place on different worlds, that doesn’t mean that Amell’s Arrow is going to be left out.

During an interview with Loaded Online, Amell said “I think that it’s highly likely that, if you have four DC superhero properties on one network, that that is an opportunity that might not ever exist again, and certainly hasn’t ever existed in the history of television. So I expect them to do something.”

Amell was promoting his appearance as Casey Jones in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. You can watch the entire interview below.

As for the Arrow and Supergirl crossover, it’s tricky…but not impossible. The easiest way to do it would be to come up with a story that justifies the travel between the worlds, or simply coming up with some excuse to merge Supergirl’s Earth with the Earth from the three other DC dramas. Either way, we’d be surprised if The CW didn’t try to pull off a four night crossover event next season.
