Comic-Con International has drastically changed over the years and “Game of Thrones” creator, George R.R. Martin has seen that change for himself since his first visit to San Diego in 1987.
On Sunday, July 27, the final day of Comic-Con was marked by the Courtyard Marriott’s “Game of Thrones” themed event at the Interactive at Petco Park as Martin crowned the King and Queen of Courtyard’s cosplay contest before sitting down for an hour-long Q&A with the moderator in front of a packed audience.
Following the Q&A, Courtyard Marriott allowed CraveOnline a few minutes to speak with Martin about his experience at the San Diego Comic-Con in 1987 and his attendance at the very first Comic-Con in New York back in 1964!

For the “Game of Thrones” fans, Martin also told us how he chooses which episode he will write each season, why he’s skipping the fifth season and even which episode of the series is his personal favorite!
We’ll be posting a video of Martin’s Q&A from the Courtyard Marriott event soon, so keep checking CraveOnline for more Comic-Con coverage!
