WrestleMania. The Showcase of the Immortals. Well… sometimes. As WrestleMania 35 arrives you can’t help but remember some of the amazing matches and moments. Savage and Steamboat. Hogan and Andre. Stone Cold and The Rock. But with all these classic moments, there are those other moments. The ones that just kind of made you scratch your head and wonder, what the heck is going on and why do I love it so much? It’s always been that perfect balance of greatness and weirdness, which is why we all love wrestling so much. So in no particular to avoid putting someone over, let’s take a look at the 20 funniest moments from WrestleMania’s history, in glorious GIF form!
Funniest Wrestlemania Moments
1. Mr. WrestleMania's Snotty Debut
Shawn Michaels is also known as Mr. WrestleMania. He is one of the greatest performers the WWE has ever known and when WrestleMania comes around you know he's going to deliver. At WrestleMania 8 he got his first solo Mania match against Tito Santana, and before they locked up and the bell even rang, Tito has to give HBK the heads up that well, he had a booger hanging out of his nose.
2. Bob Ueker Deals With Andre the Giant
At WrestleMania 4 legendary MLB announcer Bob Ueker was brought in as a guest correspondent. Also, there was Vanna White, who Bob was desperate to track down, instead he got an 8-foot tall angry giant who didn't take too kindly to Bob being annoyed by his presence.
3. Bobby Heenan Rides The Camel
Out of all the WrestleMania's with WTF moments, WrestleMania 9 is probably full of the most. Hailing from Ceasar's Palace in Las Vegas, WWE went all in on the greek theme. Announcer Bobby Heenan made his entrance by riding a camel, backward.
4. Alice Cooper's Snake Assist
Jake "The Snake' Roberts brought his friend, Alice Cooper to be in his corner as he took on the Honky Tonk Man. After the match they got their hands on manager Jimmy Hart and tried to feed him to Jake's snake.
5. The Genius Gets A Haircut
Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake entered the WWE Hall of Fame this weekend so we had to include him on here. He was known for giving a few haircuts in his time and at WrestleMania 6 he got his hands on The Genius and felt he needed a trim.
6. The Happiest Fan Ever?
WrestleMania 7 saw the reunion of "Macho Man" Randy Savage and the "First Lady of Wrestling" Elizabeth. Fans were so excited that tears were flowing and cameras cut to all the fans in the crowd. Not sure what this person was wearing at the moment but it sure looked like the gear you would wear in a rainstorm and I always wondered why they would wear that inside at WrestleMania?
7. Lawrence Taylor Main Events
Almost every wrestler in the world has the same goal, to headline WrestleMania. However, WrestleMania 11 had a headlining main event of someone who hadn't wrestled a day in their life, NFL legend Lawrence Taylor. He took on the likes of Bam Bam Bigelow in the shows main match in one of the worst wrestling matches of all time.
8. Hollywood Backlot Brawl
This match is insane. You put "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and Goldust in a match together and you're not going to be surprised by the insane outcome, but they did it. It started off in the backlot of a studio and ended all the way in the ring at WrestleMania. How did they get from one to the other? Golddust escaped and Piper gave chase in a White Bronco. Yes, you know why, because the OJ chase was still a hot topic at the time and the WWE used actual footage from the OJ chase to fill in the gaps of covering the travel from the studio to the arena.
9. Forklifts and Dumpsters
If someone told you at WrestleMania you saw someone use a forklift to pick up two wrestlers and drop them into a dumpster to help seal a victory, they'd probably believe you. And at WrestleMania 14, it happened. Yeah, it happened alright.
10. Bart Gunn Vs. Butterbean
The Brawl for All was WWE's attempt at mixing things up during the Attitude Era by introducing a boxing tournament. Their wrestlers with zero boxing skill had boxing matches and the winner of the tournament faced off against Butterbean at WrestleMania 15. It went about as well as you would expect.
11. The Honky Tonk Man
The Honky Tonk Man dancing is one of the earliest WrestleMania moments in my mind and the legend himself deserves to be here on this list because it brought a huge smile on my face every time I see him getting ready to shake, rattle and roll.
12. Vince McMahon Gets A Shave
Vince McMahon put his hair on the line at WrestleMania 23 and had it shaved all the way down after he lost to Donald Trump. Yes, the President of the United States was once involved in a Hair Vs. Hair Match at WrestleMania.
13. The Shock at WrestleMania 30
The Streak. It was something everyone knew about. The Undertaker was undefeated going all the way back to WrestleMania 7, but at WrestleMania 30 it all ended. It was shocking for every wrestling fan. The Streak was something everyone thought would either go forever or that the Undertaker would lose to some young up and coming star to help propel their career. Instead, he lost to Brock Lesnar, clean. Cameras panned to the crowd to catch the reactions of fans, disbelief washed over a silenced stadium and the camera hit this guy's face. His face was the physical embodiment of everyone's brains at the moment.
14. Paul Bearer Crotch Chopping
Buckle up for the following sentence... For three WrestleMania's in a row former MLB player Pete Rose made attempts to take out the demonic wrestler Kane. He failed every time. On one such occasion, we got to watch Kane's Manager / Father? deliver a series of crotch chops to Pete.
15. Piper Puts Out The Fire
During a segment of "Piper's Pit", talk show host Morton Downey Jr. started smoking. Roddy Piper does not like smoking and asked over and over for Morton to put it out. He didn't and instead blew smoke in Piper's face. Bad idea.
16. Ultimo Dragon's Grand Entrance
Making a big entrance is everything at WrestleMania and one of the greatest Lucha wrestlers of all-time made an attempt to make his. Ultimo Dragon's opponent that night was gravity. Gravity won.
17. Fink Gets Some Hair
In the 90's one of the biggest things going around was the Hair Club For Men. Bald dudes everywhere suddenly rocked some hair, it was wild. Howard Finkle was one bald guy who joined the club and debuted his hair at WrestleMania 10 with the hair club president and client, Sy Sperling.
18. Big Show's Sumo Match
Sumo wrestler Akebono took on The Big Show in a sumo match at WrestleMania 21 and much like when a WWE star tried to box, it went just as well as you'd think.
19. Hogan Forgets Where He Is
Hulk Hogan bodyslamming 800 lb. Andre The Giant in front of 500,000 fans at the Silverdome is Hogan's most iconic moment. As he hosted WrestleMania 30 and said hello to the crowd he must have had it on the mind as he talked about loving being there in the Silverdome, except he wasn't in the Silverdome, he was at the Superdome in New Orleans.
20. The New Day Cereal Box
Grand entrances are a staple of WrestleMania and The New Day made one of the best. They showed up in a giant box of their own signature cereal. "BootyO's". If that wasn't enough once they jumped out of the box they were all rocking some Dragon Ball Z gear.
