Blizzard has finally revealed when we can expect Diablo 3 (yay!). That day is May 15th, as the much-anticipated title will hit both PC and Mac via physical media and digitally through Blizzard’s Battle.net service.
The game will release in a bevy of territories including U.S., Canada, Europe, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macua and more in the middle of May. Gamers located in Latin America and Russia looking to snag Blizzard’s latest dungeon-crawling opus will unfortunately have to wait until June 7th to get their hands on the game.
“After many years of hard work by our development team and months of beta testing by hundreds of thousands of dedicated players around the world, we’re now in the homestretch,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We look forward to putting the final polish on Diablo 3 over the next two months and delivering the ultimate action-RPG experience to gamers worldwide starting on May 15.”
The standard edition of Diablo 3 will run you $59.99 for PC and Mac, whether you buy at retail or digitally. There is also a special edition planned that collects the full game, a behind-the-scenes documentary in both Blu-ray and DVD formats, the game’s soundtrack, a massive art book, a 4 GB thumb drive modeled after a “soulstone” that contains full versions of Diablo 2 and Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction, as well as in-game content for Diablo 3, World of Warcraft and StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty. This mammoth edition will cost you $99.99.
It’s time to start saying goodbye to loved ones…
