DC’s “We Can Be Heroes” campaign to end hunger in the Horn of Africa is still going strong, and they’ve announced their last crowdfunding campaign of the year at Indiegogo, where generous donors can earn a lot of DC Comics swag as a reward for that generosity. Signed books, t-shirts, blu-rays and all sorts of cool DC stuff.
The kicker – if you happen to have three thousand dollars to donate – is that you can not only get free passes to New York Comic-Con next month, but you can also have a super VIP lunch with DC honchos Dan Didio and Bob Harras, along with the new Harley Quinn writers Jimmy Palmiotti (All-Star Western, Batwing) and Amanda Conner, artist extraordinaire. Chances are anyone who spends that kind of money will feel entitled to say whatever they want, and Didio is the controversial guy you’d likely want to talk to about any issues you might have with the state of DC comics. So that could be interesting – but the best part is, no matter what happens at that VIP dinner, is that a hefty chunk of change will be helping to support this charity effort.
It’s a worthy cause, so go ahead and boost the signal.
