It’s that time of year again! You and your family get some quality time to plop down on the couch, grab some food and watch an endless marathon of the most badass action movies of all time.
Oh, that’s not your holiday tradition? Well, it’s time to jump on the bandwagon. In honor of Harley Davidson’s quest to bring out your inner badass (while you’re decked out in the finest Harley-Davidson products , of course), we have just the list of movies for you.
The Naughty List: 10 Badass Movies
1. Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
Arguably Arnold’s best movie, this masterpiece features some iconic badass moments. Do you remember the underground armory? Miles Dyson’s explosive death? Every damn scene with T-1000? Badass personified.
2. Alien (1979)
Her company is working against her, everybody on her mission dies and she still has to flush that freaking alien out of the airlock! This movie was the beginning of us all realizing that Ripley is as badass as any dude on the planet… Or off-world too, I guess.
3. Total Recall (1990)
Let me be clear about this, I’m talking about the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie, not the Colin Farrell vehicle. Another Paul Verhoeven classic, this film can be summed up in two words: three boobs.
4. Dredd (2012)
No, I’m not talking about the terrible Sylvester Stallone flick from the ‘90s. This awesome (and oft-overlooked) movie has some amazing scenes of people experiencing the drug “SLO-MO.” Oh yeah, and the gritty, over-the-top action isn’t half bad either.
5. Bloodsport (1988)
Jean Claude is one of the original action movie badasses. And his portrayal of Frank Dux in Bloodsport is all the evidence you need. What could be naughtier than an illegal underground martial arts tournament where dudes straight up die? Absolutely nothing.
6. Die Hard (1988)
Bruce Willis was basically anointed the king of the badasses after this little picture. There is no cooler cop than John McClane. And who could forget the scene where he walks barefoot through broken glass? Badassery.
7. Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
The first Indiana Jones movie has it all: Nazis, ancient relics, crazy gunfights, elaborate booby traps and a hot, strong leading lady. Add in Harrison Ford cracking wise and some creepy face-melting effects and you have an incredibly badass movie.
8. First Blood (1982)
John Rambo, victim of a war that he didn’t want to fight, returns to Hope, Washington (ironic, eh?) and finds that he is no longer welcome in his home country. Stallone’s depiction of this tragic hero is nothing less than badass (explosions and blazing guns), but it is also quite poignant. Bravo, Sly.
9. Dirty Harry (1971)
With one of the scarier bad guys of all time (a real life version of The Joker), Dirty Harry is the dark, 70s style cop thriller. Clint Eastwood is about as naughty as you can get in this flick, blatantly disregarding police procedure in order to apprehend villains the only way that he knows how… Violently.
10. 300 (2006)
This stylish thrill ride is beloved by many for its over-the-top fight scenes, ultra masculine bravado and artistic portrayal of blood, but it also taught us how badass Gerard Butler can be when he puts his mind to it. I think that we all have that awesome front-kick to the chest scene etched into our minds because… well… THIS. IS. SPARTA!!
