You’ve seen flexy TV screens taking center stage at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show, so why not a flexy cell phone?
Not to be outdone by all the curved televisions showing up this year, LG wants to put one in your hands, announcing a U.S. version of the previously international LG G Flex will soon be offered by providers AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint.
The Flex has a curved six-inch OLED screen that settles nicely into your cradling hand, but can be bend to a fully-flat state (although from the look of it, it really doesn’t seem to be made for repeated constant flexing).
While it may not sound like too big a deal, for those of you who seem to find themselves dropping (and effectively shattering) phones on a semi-regular basis, the durability and ruggedness of the LG G Flex may appeal to you.
In addition to that bendy 720×1280 display, the Flex also sports a 2.2GHz processor, 2GB RAM and 13-megapixel rear camera. Oh yeah, and the battery is bendy too! Weird…
You can check it out for yourself when the Flex hits those U.S. service providers by March — but no word yet on the price.
