With “Sons of Anarchy” already slated to wrap its seven season run this fall, FX will have to say goodbye to yet another one of its signature dramas just a few months later.
At the Television Critics Association Press Tour, FX CEO John Landgraf confirmed the rumors that “Justified” will come to an end after six seasons. “It was really Graham [Yost] and Tim Olyphant’s decision [to end it],” explained Landgraf. “We talked about it a year ago and they felt that the arc of the show would be best served in six seasons versus seven. Regretfully, that’s their decision.”
“Justified” was created and developed by Graham Yost, and based upon Elmore Leonard’s character, U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens; who appeared in the short story “Fire in the Hole,” as well as the novels, Pronto, Riding the Rap and Raylan. The series featured Timothy Olyphant as Raylan Givens.
Currently in its fifth season on FX, “Justified” has yet to be formally renewed for its sixth and final season. But it’s extremely unlikely that FX would drop “Justified” a season before the newly announced end date. Therefore,“Justified” Season 6 will probably begin its final bow in January 2015.
