Arthur actress and co-writer of Frances Ha Greta Gerwig has been picked to star in the CBS spinoff of “How I Met Your Mother,” the cleverly titled “How I Met Your Dad.”
Crave’s Coming Soon site carried the announcement Wednesday. Assuming “Dad” sticks to the “HIMYM” format (and it seems like it probably will since that’s the whole point of a “Mother” spinoff anyway), Gerwig will star as the ringleader of a group of friends engaging in wacky hijinks as she recounts how she met her future husband.
The show is on the CBS schedule for next fall.
