Yes, the alternate jersey thing is getting out of hand, especially in minor league baseball. But we have to admit, some of these Star Wars-inspired unis we’re seeing these days are pretty freakin’ awesome.
The Brooklyn Cyclones raised the stakes on the Lucas-centric jersey front last weekend when they took to Twitter to unveil their uniforms adorned with the baddest Sith Lord this side of Vader — Darth Maul.
Here are our #StarWars jerseys for 8/2. To paraphrase Crocodile Dundee… @RiverCats @DurhamBulls @TimberRattlers pic.twitter.com/JCSh1kBgeb

Not bad…but as you can see, the Cyclones used the occasion to also take a shot at some other minor league franchises who have tried out the Star Wars jersey thing, including the Kane County Cougars’ Chewbacca look, the Durham Bulls and Sacramento RiverCats R2-D2 unis, and the Darth Vader adorned jerseys of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.
Well, the Timber Rattlers wouldn’t take that lying down…
What movie is that from, @BKCyclones? We don’t recognize it from any of the *real* ‘Star Wars’ movies. @RiverCats @DurhamBulls

Oh, snap…star wars, indeed…
