Major League Baseball isn't like the NBA or the NFL…the baseball season is a marathon, not a sprint. And over the course of 182 games and a six-month campaign, there's a lot of downtime.
There's lots of time for a player to think about his game, his mechanics, his opportunities, his future.
And sometimes…all that time turns a player mad. And a mind that was once focused on athletic perfection chases a different pursuit — a path…to evil.
That "Breaking Bad" moment has clearly happened for Oakland A's starter Sonny Gray. In the midst of an exceedingly long doubleheader Wednesday against the Seattle Mariners, Gray had a whole lotta time to kill — and his bedeviled mind took out its boredom on a helpless target: his own adoring Oakland A's fans.
And from the video posted to Crave sports site NESN, Gray's evil appears to be infecting his fellow Athletics teammates.
Sad…very, very sad.
Funny as hell…but sad.
