This is… different. The new sci-fi thriller The Signal (not to be confused with the 2007 sci-fi thriller The Signal) starts the way many a film has before, with a group of young people isolated from urbania, beset by mystery and danger. Then it goes full Beyond the Black Rainbow on us with creepy hazmat suit dudes, affliction anxiety and psychotropic sequences like the one found this CraveOnline Exclusive clip, featuring “Hannibal” co-star Laurence Fishburne.
“What is The Signal?” That’s a damned good question. Unless it has something to do with that weird-ass cow, it looks like we’ll have no idea until The Signal hits theaters on June 13, 2014.
From the Press Release:
Three college students on a road trip across the Southwest experience a detour: the tracking of a computer genius who has already hacked into MIT and exposed security faults. The trio find themselves drawn to an isolated area. Suddenly everything goes dark. When one of the students, Nic (Brenton Thwaites of The Giver and Maleficent), regains consciousness, he is in a waking nightmare… The Signal is rated PG-13 for some thematic elements, violence and language and has a running time of 97 minutes.
