Earlier this week, “Homeland” Season 4 added Corey Stoll and Laila Robins to its cast. Now there’s another familiar face joining Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) on her new mission.
Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Suraj Sharma has been cast in “a heavily recurring role” as Aayan Ibrahim, a Pakistani medical student who finds himself in Carrie’s orbit. Sharma is best known for starring in the critically acclaimed adaptation of Life of Pi and he is currently appearing opposite Jon Hamm in Disney’s Million Dollar Arm. This will be Sharma’s first role on television.
The storyline for “Homeland” Season 4 will take place in Islamabad and Kabul, as Carrie returns to the frontline of the war on terror alongside Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend) and Fara Sherazi (Nazanin Boniadi). Mandy Patinkin’s Saul Berenson will also remain involved with the story despite Saul’s exit from the CIA in the third season finale.
“Homeland” Season 4 will begin filming later this month in South Africa before returning to Showtime this fall.
