Well, this isn’t exactly shocking news…
But it is happy news for PS4 owners, following word that the in-development Titanfall sequel will not follow Titanfall‘s Xbox One exclusivity and will be available on Sony’s next-gen system whenever the game ultimately comes out.
In a Wall Street Journal report (re-reported by Crave gaming site Destructoid), a source close to developer EA said the next chapter of the giant robot battle game is in the planning stages and will have versions for both Xbox One and PS4.
We told you back in March why industry watchers assumed Titanfall 2 would not only be developed for both next-gen systems, but why Titanfall could be one of the last exclusive third-party games for a good, long time.
And while we get why Microsoft likely threw a bazillion dollars EA’s way to ensure an A-list game like Titanfall would help give Xbox One an edge over PS4 among early adopters of the new systems, it probably didn’t do the Titanfall franchise any long-term favors.
