Either Empire Magazine doesn’t think Guardians of the Galaxy is worth as many variant covers as X-Men: Days of Future Past or they’re just plain getting lazy.
Rather than the 25 different character covers Empire doled out for the last X-flick, Empire debuted just two versions of their upcoming August issue featuring Marvel’s sci-fi action extravaganza.
As seen below (and also posted in many places, including Crave film site SuperHeroHype), one features the Guardians themselves while the other focuses on the space adventurers’ assortment of bad guys, including Korath the Pursuer (Djimon Hounsou), Nebula (Karen Gillan) and Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace).
We’ll see how impressive they look in actual motion when James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy debuts Aug. 1.
