“Community” was a show given up for dead at the end of May. After surviving five seasons on NBC, the plug was finally pulled by the network.
However, the “Community” fans always believed that it would be back. And almost everyone thought that “Community” would get a new season on Hulu. Even Danny Pudi thought that was happening!
But instead, it was Yahoo Screen that saved the day with an 11th hour order of “Community” Season 6 on June 30th, hours before the cast would have been released from their contracts. And so “Community” lives again for another 13 episodes and the dream of #SixSeasonsandaMovie may yet come true.
Series creator Dan Harmon will oversee the new season with Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jim Rash, Alison Brie and Ken Jeong all back for at least one more round at Greendale. There’s even talk that John Oliver may return, depending upon his schedule with HBO’s Last Week Tonight.
Because of the late pickup, there isn’t any new “Community” footage to show off and there may not be any clips for a while. Yet that hasn’t stopped Yahoo Screen from assembling a terrific teaser trailer for “Community” Season 6 that looks back at some of the show’s greatest moments… and the gas leak year of Season 4.
“Ratings? Where we’re going, we don’t need ratings.”

“Community” Season 6 will either premiere in late 2014 or in early 2015, with each episode released on a weekly basis via Yahoo Screen. But to tide you over, here’s a second video in which the cast shares their thoughts about what they want to see in the new season of “Community.”
