Denzel Washington doesn’t just equalize, his equalizes with extreme prejudice in this extended, violent and awesome fight scene from his new film, appropriately titled The Equalizer. An adaptation of the hit 1980s TV series, the film stars Washington as Robert McCall, a former black ops agent who comes out of retirement to protect an underage prostitute (Chloe Grace Moretz) from a cabal of Russian gangsters and their effete, dangerous leader (Marton Csokas).
The film marks the long awaited reunion of Denzel Washington and filmmaker Antoine Fuqua, who previously directed the star to an Academy Award for Best Actor in the 2001 drama Training Day. Their follow-up film, written by Richard Wenk (The Mechanic), is a hardboiled action thriller that CraveOnline called “entertaining and visceral” after its premiere at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival.
The Equalizer will equalize U.S. audiences on September 24, and Australian audiences on September 25.
