Ray Rice and AP are no brainers in regards to players who are a ‘must-drop,’ but which fantasy stars have performed so poorly that it’s not only time for their coaches to give up on them but for you as a fantasy manager as well?
Unless you have a desperate team plagued by injuries, in a standard 10-team league, the following players aren’t worth owning any longer.

3 Fantasy Football Players To Drop Now
Chris Johnson RB - New York Jets
CJ has been one of the most frustrating players to own since he took that mega contract in Tennessee, but this year's rate of 5 fantasy points per game is a lower low. He only had 3 rush attempts in the Jets' last game against Denver, and in that game he only played in 33.3 percent of the team's snaps. In his last two games combined he has 1 fantasy point. One whopping point.
The Jets are a complete mess on offense; even if CJ had something left, he wouldn't have the offensive line or quarterback to help him.
C.J. Spiller RB - Buffalo Bills
A 4th round pick before the season started, Spiller appears to be a huge let-down this season as well. The Bills are actually a good football team, but Spiller's inferior pass catching ability to Fred Jackson and his meager 3.4 YPC has really hurt him. Spiller only received the ball 6 times in their last contest against the Patriots, playing on only 12 snaps the entire game.
Spiller is only worth keeping in deep leagues with a large bench or somewhere another manager may be willing to buy low.
Toby Gerhart RB - Jacksonville Jaguars
Taken in the 3rd round of most drafts, Gerhart has been possibly the biggest disappointment in all of fantasy this year. Sure, he's been battling injury, but it appears the former Stanford stud is proving what the Minnesota Vikings have known for years already -- Gerhart is an average back, at best.
He's averaged 2.6 yards-per-carry this season, translating to only 4 fantasy points per game (when he's actually played). What's worse? it appears the Jags have given up on him. Denard Robinson got a bulk of the carries before the team handed the duties over to Storm Johnson. Also, don't forget, this is the worst team in football -- a team that will be down often and forced to throw.
I hate to say it as much as anyone, but no way Gerhart is ownable in any league right now.
