While they’re still getting over the PR nightmare that was a bungled launch of its latest Assassin’s Creed title, Ubisoft is on a good start to making up for it. In the days of $10 downloadable content for not much extra, Assassin’s Creed Unity‘s first DLC will launch January 13 on PC, Xbox One and PS4, and people who already own the game will not have to pay a cent for it.
The DLC, titled Dead Kings, will pick up right where the main game left off, continuing the story of Arno, as he journeys to a new city with a far darker past. Dead Kings will include both new co-op and single-player missions, in addition to new side quests.

While some may say the damage was already done, the future of Assassin’s Creed still hangs in the balance. After already offering free games to make up for its infamous debacle, Ubisoft is making the right moves to show it cares about those who cared about them. Depending on how this DLC fairs, and how fun running around underground tunnels turns out to be, Unity could be making a comeback in 2015.
