Embattled Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson will be fired by the BBC today, after being suspended earlier in the month.
The Telegraph is reporting that Clarkson, 54, will be relieved of his duties on the top-rating BBC program, after a “fracas” with a producer that stemmed from an argument over dinner.
The Director-General of the BBC, Lord Hall, is expected to announce that an internal investigation has found that Clarkson did attack producer Oisin Tymon, and that such behaviour can not be tolerated.
Lord Hall will thank Clarkson for his contribution to the British national broadcaster, and defend his “politically incorrect style of broadcasting.”
The ruling comes after a “fracas” at a Yorkshire hotel earlier in March. Clarkson had been informed after a day’s shooting that his preferred meal of steak and chips would not be available as the hotel’s kitchen had shut.
According to the Telegraph, the BBC investigation report will find that Clarkson verbally abused Tymon for 20 minutes, before assaulting him physically for 30 seconds.
Despite Clarkson’s exit, the Telegraph reports that the BBC does intend to continue with Top Gear, reportedly approaching BBC radio presenter Chris Evans to replace him.

It is unclear at this stage whether Clarkson’s Top Gear co-hosts James May and Richard Hammond will continue with the program.
As for Clarkson, it is thought that he may be working with Netflix on a new project. Considering the level of support from the public he received following his suspension, there may be a significant audience that would follow him.
