Canadian writer Jeff King is one of the main creative minds behind the new DC Comics’ series Convergence, an adventure-based story that is reminiscent of the fantastical plot of The Hunger Games.
The story involves Brainiac collecting cities and inhabitants from various storylines that have concluded, trapping them in domes on a planet outside of time and space.
“I had been in writers’ rooms where there was big world-building to do, and complex mythologies and lots of characters,” King said to CTVNews.ca. “The goal always was to focus down and tell an intimate story within that epic sandbox.” Today King is attending a myriad of events promoting his work. “The greatest thing about this is being able to go to cons and talk to kids who are like I was when I was younger,” he said in the same interview.
Previously King had worked on such shows as Due South, Relic Hunter and White Collar, where he’s acted an an executive producer for the past six seasons.
Convergence wraps up in May.
