The Wii U version is so bad, it’ll make you not want a Pagani Huayra.
Surprise, surprise (read: not at all a surprise). Nintendo current-gen hardware is lacking in the graphical oomph department once again, and it’s really annoying to Project CARS dev Slightly Mad Studios. You’d have to be slightly mad to want to put a visual feast like Project CARS onto such an underpowered home console like the Nintendo Wii U, but they’re doing it anyway, despite the fact that there’s no official release planned for said version.
How bad is it? They’re only hitting 23fps. They even went so far as to say that hitting 30fps “might take a hell of a lot of work” (It runs at 60fps on the other consoles). Another kicker is that Nintendo might even release new hardware while they’re still working on putting this game out for the Wii U. How’s that for setbacks, huh?
Knowing just how shit-poor the game is running on the Wii U, and the potential arrival of a new Nintendo console (we’ll hear more at E3 2015), Slightly Mad Studios has stated that this is honestly a waiting game. And we don’t blame them.
Thanks to Crave’s Game Revolution for the update on Project CARS.
