Even if you watched Wednesday night’s ESPY awards, you didn’t see the award given for Best Fighter. The non-televised award was given to Ronda Rousey, who beat out Floyd Mayweather. And Rousey enjoyed every minute of it.
Rousey did a short interview with ESPN following her award, and immediately took a jab.
“I wonder how Floyd feels being beat by a woman for once,” she said. “I’d like to see him pretend to not know who I am now.”
One could argue Rousey is simply joking. But c’mon. All jokes are half truth, right?
Just to refresh your memory, Mayweather is a widely-known abuser.
There is no doubt Rousey deserves this award. While Mayweather is being stripped of titles, Rousey is becoming a transcendent talent who is completely dominating a sport unlike any athlete we’ve seen this decade.
