Diane Delano dies at the age of 67
Diane Delano’s representative Dennis Sevier confirmed to PEOPLE that the actor died at the age of 67 on Friday, December 13, 2024, at her Los Angeles home after battling an illness. At the time of writing, the illness she was diagnosed with remains undisclosed.
In the statement, Sevier shared kind words about Delano as an individual and about her craft. He mentioned, “When Diane entered any room you knew she was there! She was full of life and loved being an actor. She will be missed.”
Delano’s spark in acting ignited reportedly since the age of 6. Growing up, she attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts/West. Soon, in 1983, she made her feature debut in the biographical film, Heart Like a Wheel, which was based on drag racing driver Shirley Muldowney’s life, in a supporting role. After making brief appearances in numerous television shows for years, she got her big break in the CBS comedy-drama series, Northern Exposure.
Aside from the CBS show, she is known for portraying Roberta “Bobbi” Glass in Popular and Hilda Van Beno in the hit soap opera series, Days of Our Lives. She also starred in The Upshaws, where she portrayed Jan in two episodes. Her other acting credits include Teen Titans, The Wicker Man, and many more.
