At this year’s New York Auto Show, Hyundai announced it would split off its Genesis model into its own line — creating a sister brand that would focus exclusively on the manufacturing of luxury vehicles. That luxury line added a new car at the 2016 L.A. Auto Show with the 2018 Genesis G80 3.3T Sport.
The G80 3.3T Sport adds a new 3.3 liter turbocharged V6 engine alongside special sport performance upgrades for improved driving dynamics and sport agility. Exterior styling flairs will call attention to all of the Genesis’ engineering upgrades.

Genesis G80 3.3T Sport will offer three upgraded engine options including a 5.0 liter V8, a 3.8 liter V6 and a 3.3 liter twin-turbocharged V6. The standard 3.3 liter machine will produce 365 Horsepower. As of now, the 0-60 speed of this sportier Genesis is unknown. All of that new power hits the road with a sport-tuned, eight-speed automatic transmission with shift-by-wire technology. The Genesis G80 3.3T Sport also packs Continuous Damping Control suspension atop 19-inch dark alloy wheels for enhanced vehicle dynamics and ride quality.
Inside the G80 3.3T Sport, the car serves up a 9.2-inch touchscreen navigation system with a DIS multi-media controller. The Lexicon Premium Sound System includes 17 speakers and QuantumLogic Surround Sound and Clari-Fi music restoration technology.
In-car safety features include a multi-view camera external and full LED headlights with Dynamic Bending Light.
While there are no official price figures yet for the 2018 Genesis G80, the car will arrive in Spring, 2017.
