So, you’ve decided to surprise that special someone and shave your intimate region, but do you know how it’s done? There are some guidelines on how to remove pubic hair that you need to follow in order to avoid cutting yourself and any of your delicate parts. Obviously, the same rules that work for hair on your head don’t actually apply here. That is why we’ve gathered a bunch of useful manscaping tips in one place and sorted them out for your convenience. Take a look.
Trimming
First off, you need to know what you’re dealing with. If it’s been quite a while since your last shaving session, you might want to start things off with some simple scissor trimming. That way you can reduce the amount of hair down there to a decent length and give yourself more room for work. We can’t stress enough the importance of using separate scissors for your regular and intimate shaving. There are bacteria in our pubic area that you wouldn’t want to spread to the rest of your body by using the same pair of scissors. Now, keep in mind that most experts agree that you should never shave all of your pubic hair and leave at least one centimeter to avoid irritation and ingrown hair. Of course, this is all your choice so you may or may not listen.
Shaving
If you’ve decided to go all the way, the next part of your pubic hair removal involves, of course, shaving. Make sure you buy a new, quality razor and an alcohol-free shaving foam or gel. There isn’t much difference between the two, except that the foam seems more abundant and is easier to put on. Some people don’t use the foam at all but prefer to do the whole process while in a hot shower. The steam from the how water will make sure your pubic hairs become softer and much easier to shave off. If you’ve skipped the first part and started shaving right away, you’ll most likely clog the drain with the long, coarser hairs, which is never a good idea. As for the process itself, remember to shave with the grain and not against it. People will tell you that there are two schools of thought when it comes to that, but it’s not true. If you shave against the grain, you’ll get a cleaner and more precise shave, but you risk skin irritation and various other problems. It simply isn’t worth it.
Cuts
Obviously, when we talk about shaving the private region, no one even wants to think about accidents and the resulting cuts, but they are a reality. Like it is with regular shaving, sometimes you’ll slip up and cut yourself, but the most important thing to remember is not to panic in these situations. Assess the gravity of the situation and whether you need to get professional help or if it’s just a harmless, but annoying little cut. How will you know that? Well, obviously, bigger cuts are somewhat more dangerous and may require stitching. If the blood won’t stop pouring from the cut, you should seek medical help. However, for a minor cut, you need to keep it together and clean the wound as soon as possible with regular water. After that, it’s necessary to disinfect the area with some medical alcohol or something similar. Note – it will burn like hell, but you’ll survive. Once that is done, apply a bit of aloe vera to the cut to seal it off and let it heal itself. The pure aloe vera gel is not only antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, but it also dries really quickly in the air, creating a handy natural bandage until it heals.
That’s about it. Now that you know how to remove pubic hair, you can think about the style you want or modify the process whichever way you feel right.
