What You’ll Need

Open the drawer that stores your Tinfoil. Pull out a piece long enough to cover your countertop. Lay it there. You don’t want it to fit too snuggly because what freaks cats out about tinfoil isn’t the material itself but the sound it makes. That’s because when moved, bent, or stepped on, foil makes a very distinct high-pitched crinkling sound. It emits a sound so high-pitched that it reaches into the ultrasonic range, scaring your feline friend, but not harming it.
