Wicked Gets High Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes Scores With Great Reviews

The much-awaited musical adventure Wicked starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo as leads has been garnering praise from critics, as evidenced from the early reviews of the movie. It has received a near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes and an impressive Metacritic scores. Apart from Grande and Erivo, the cast of the movie features Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Jonathan Bailey, and many more.

Critics are raving about Wicked: Part One in new reviews

Wicked has wowed critics with its impressive story-telling, acting performances, and visuals. Being the adaptation of a renowned musical, Wicked carried a heavy responsibility to do it right. However, the reviews by numerous critics online show that the film appears to have done justice to its source material.

In Jonathan Sim’s review on ComingSoon, he described the film as “a must-see cinematic event.” He further added, “Wicked is a show-stopper sure to make any musical lover happy. It adds a lot to the stage production, fleshing out characters and making you laugh and cry.”

Helen O’Hara of Empire Magazine sang praises of Wicked director Jon M. Chu in her review, writing, “Chu amps up the colour and spectacle to extraordinary, almost overwhelming heights, but the real magic comes from Erivo and Grande as the frenemies at the story’s heart. ”

Wicked earns respectable Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes scores

According to Rotten Tomatoes, Wicked has a spectacular score of 91 percent on the Tomatometer. On the other hand, the movie bagged a 99 percent on the popcornmeter. Wicked’s score on Metacritic is 73 on the basis of all the critic reviews.

While there are still two days left until the film hits US theaters, Variety reported that the movie might make a whopping $100 million in its opening weekend.
