Business isn’t going well for one of the BBC’s crown jewels, and matters are about to get much more uncomfortable for all parties concerned back in London. You might call it the “Revenge of Clarkson.”
The BBC’s new version of Top Gear is getting run over by the press and ignored by more once-friendly viewers. It once stood as one the network’s most popular shows and biggest international export alongside Doctor Who. However, the new Chris Evans version can’t get out of neutral, and the show just might get recalled.

That Chris Evans version exists because the BBC fired Jeremy Clarkson for punching out some millennial and for generally being Jeremy Clarkson. So, after apologizing to the punk and settling out of court, he took former Top Gear co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May and settled at Amazon to produce a new automotive-themed show.
It’ll be called The Grand Tour, and Clarkson revealed the logo today (top). There’s no word on what the show’s segments will be, but these guys will have no problem recapturing the old Top Gear magic because their chemistry defined it.
That’s the mistake the new Top Gear made and will continue to make until its stripped for parts. The new hosts and producers treat it like a car show. It’s not and never was. It’s a show about grown men acting like goofballs around cars. I assume that’s what we can expect from The Grand Tour.
