The Last Guardian has suffered yet another delay, with the troubled video game now set to launch on December 6, 2016.
The Team Ico game’s release date has been pushed back several times since its initial reveal way back in 2009, with it initially set to be a PS3 title. With the project rumored to have been cancelled, its developers showcased it once again in 2015, announcing that it would finally make its way to the PS4 in 2016.
However, it has now been revealed that the game’s release would yet again be pushed back, with Sony president Shuhei Yoshida writing: “The Last Guardian development team is fast approaching major milestones in production and has made the tough decision to delay the release of The Last Guardian a few weeks. The Last Guardian will launch on December 6, 2016.”
Yoshida added that Sony and Team Ico “want to deliver the most polished experience possible for our fans who have supported us for so long,” though stated that they had “encountered more bugs than anticipated while in the final stages of development.” As such, the game’s release date has been pushed back from October 28 to December 6.
Though it’s unfortunate that those who have already waited nearly 7 years to play The Last Guardian will be forced to wait another three months, hopefully the extra time afforded to Team Ico will allow them to ensure that the game will meet the our expectations.
