Have you ever wondered what life looks like through the eyes of your cat? If you have, there’s now a way to get at least a virtual tour of the world from the feline perspective via a new video game. It’s called Stray, and it’s the debut release from developer BlueTwelve Studio, a Montpellier-based company, and was published by Annapurna Interactive.
It’s Stray Day.

The premise is simple: you play a curious orange cat that has been separated from its family and has free reign of the streets of a futuristic place called Walled City 99, which is home to robots. The agile movements of the cat – which can jump from roofs to gutters to signs – are in stark contrast to the bots’ mechanical way of moving through their environment.

The game focuses more on roleplaying than strategy, allowing the player to escape by embodying an animal on an adventure. It’s non-violent and playful, making it a healthier break for your brain than a first-person shooter premise. Even real-life cats like it!

While others actually got emotional over the kitty’s plight.

Aww. Stray makes us all warm and fuzzy inside. (When was the last time you could say that about a video game?)
Stray is available “meow” on PC, PS5, and PS4.
