Series two of Netflix original series Stranger Things will air in 2017, and now Netflix might have just given away the identity of new character on the show in the form of the upside down artist and children’s television character Mr. Squiggle.
Aussie writer and person you should be following on Twitter, Bec Shaw, today tweeted a picture of Mr. Squiggle with the caption, “Only 80’s kids will get this joke about why this character should be in the next season of Stranger Things.”
Then, Netflix pretty much won the internet for today with a response that came out of absolutely nowhere, posting a picture of Stranger Things character Nancy Wheeler with an ominous Mr. Squiggle-shaped shadow behind her.
For those who don’t know, Mr. Squiggle’s show pretty much involved kids sending in their squiggles, and Mr. Squiggle would draw them upside down (geddit? the ‘Upside Down’?) and turn them into legit works of art.
This could be the biggest crossover in the history of television. Catch Mr. Squiggle gettin’ upside down in the upside down, below.
