A Angus And Julia Stone, Rick Rubin Produced Album Is On The Way

Angus and Julia Stone are returning with a brand new 2014 album produced by Rick Rubin.

Set to be one of the special Australian releases of the year, the brother/sister duo hasn’t recorded together since 2010’s No.1 album Down The Way, opting instead to pursue solo projects such as Angus’ Broken Brights (2012, No.2 in Aus + European chart success) and Julia’s By The Horns (2012, No.11 Down Under).

The involvement of super producer Rubin and his 32-year run working alongside the world’s biggest acts adds to the significance of the project. Rubin’s career has seen the famously bearded 51-year-old work with an amazing list of acts including Metallica, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Jay-Z, Rage Against The Machine, Johnny Cash for the ‘American Recordings’ and more recently Laga Gaga, Lana Del Rey, Kanye West and Eminem.

Rubin was full of praise when discussing his newest project this week.

“This album is extraordinary; Angus and Julia are truly unique musicians,” Rubin said in a statement.

“They are authentic and pure people who do things from the heart. I’ve never worked with anyone like them before.”

The new album is due out August 1, with a lead single expected to drop sometime in May, and was recorded at Rubin’s Shangri-La studio in Malibu late last year.
