2014 Lexus LS 450 F Sport Keeps It Rolling

Lexus is taking luxury sedans to the next level with the LS 460 F Sport.

As appealing from the exterior as the interior, there are many inspirational features pulled from the world-renowned Lexus LFA supercar, so the LS F Sport was “engineered to drive your hunger for performance even further.” This is apparent in the speed and acceleration of the car as zero to sixty in 5.4 seconds is certainly what I like to call power in the punch. There’s no way to not make a statement while merging into traffic.

In Manual mode, the quick shifting, eight speed transmission is controlled with the paddle shifters. So if you want to literally feel the power, this feature puts the exhilaration of 386 horsepower right at your fingertips. Switching into automatic mode, shows off the Electronically Controlled Transmission with intelligence (ETC-i) eight speed sequential shift without missing a beat.

With so much performance capability my finger tips, how could I not take the F Sport on a mini road trip? Whether it was the sheer elegance, the envy of other drivers on the road or me at the wheel, (I’d like to think it’s the latter), there were quite a few gawkers on the road.

Comfortable seats are probably on the top of the list of any road-trip traveler and this car delivered one of the best long distance driving experiences I’ve had. The bolstered from seats were exclusively enhanced in design and I could feel the difference. In addition to that, the interior head, leg, shoulder and hip room was perfect for not only the driver but for the passengers as well.

The F Sports starts at $80,490. The model reviewed was $87,900 and as one of the passengers in the car noted, “This is like sitting in a jar of Skippy.” Well, that about sums it up.
