Foregoing the tradition online car sales routes, which don’t typically offer space for your more creative selling techniques, YouTube user and proud 1999 Holden Barina seller David Johns has decided to interject a little flair into his approach to sell his beat-up used car.
He has created a silver screen worthy video ad for his pre-loved automobile, naturally complimenting it with its own hashtag and website. The ad begins, as most in the car sales genre do, with a darken shot of some of the car’s features.
“Only one careful owner,” it reads. “10 months rego. Always garaged. Matching seats.” The handsome and well-groomed Johns stars in the ad himself, shown zipping through the city in his trusty Holden.
“Performance, Style, Luxury – redefined,” boasts the ad. More golden information is explained if you follow through to the website. “Designed in Germany, built in Spain, sold to you in Australia,” it reads. “This Holden Barina will make any other journey seem uneventful.”
“The ample storage means that you can even fit the vehicles’s own exhaust should the need arise,” it continues. Johns told news.com.au that the ad was created with the help from colleagues at Digital Chimney.
“Why would I spend $8000 doing work to sell a car worth $1-2000? he said. “Honestly because I had the time and I just wanted to show off my skills.” For those interested in purchasing the car, you can tweet an offer using the hashtag #buymybarina.
