Earlier this year, “Prison Break” star Wentworth Miller was cast as Leonard Snart aka “Captain Cold” on “The Flash.” Now Miller’s former onscreen brother will reunite with him on his new show.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dominic Purcell has been signed to portray Mick Rory aka Heat Wave on “The Flash.” On “Prison Break,” Purcell played Lincoln Burrows, the falsely incarcerated half brother of Miller’s Michael Scofield. Both Purcell and Miller will appear in the tenth episode of “The Flash,” as both Heat Wave and Captain Cold are members of the Flash’s Rogues. For you non-comic book fans out there, that means that they’re villains.
Heat Wave was created by John Broome and Carmine Infantino as pyromaniac whose obsession with fire led him to become a costumed supervillain. Heat Wave and Captain Cold are two of the Flash’s most prominent villains.
In addition to his stint on “Prison Break,” Purcell was also the star of “John Doe” on Fox and he has appeared in “Common Law” and “Caste” in addition his feature film roles in The Killer Elite and Straw Dogs.

Purcell will also the fourth “Prison Break” star to appear on “The Flash” or “Arrow,” following Robert Knepper’s appearance as Clock King, Peter Stormare’s upcoming guest appearance as the new Vertigo and the previously mentioned appearance of Miller. It’s bizarrely similar to the way that the “Arrow” casting directors kept using actors from “Spartacus” to fill guest roles in the first two seasons.
“The Flash” will premiere on The CW on Tuesday, October 7.
