Following a Fader conversation in which André 3000 confessed that in this year’s OutKast reunion he “felt like a sell-out” and “didn’t wanna do the tour,” the rapper has sat down to discuss his controversial jumpsuits from OutKast’s festival-headlining tour.
The jumpsuits are currently on display in Miami, coinciding with the annual Art Basel event. André sat down with Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) founder Paula Wallace to discuss the exhibit they’re part of, “i feel ya,” which will be a featured display at the SCAD Museum of Art next summer. The rapper discusses his inspiration behind the messages, which include contemplatives such as: “Across cultures, darker people suffer most. Why?” and “Ok, hand over the cure and stop playing”.

In the conversation with Wallace, André discusses the jumpsuits and the source and thought-provoking nature of their accompanying messages, as well as working with the other two artists in the exhibit (Jimmy O’Neal and Greg Brunkalla).
