Skrillex

The final day of Ultra Music Festival began with much anticipation as many rumors and speculations about who would be performing circulated during Miami Music Week. With an already “billed” special guest on the OWSLA stage, and several others rumored to join in on the fun, it was nearly all anyone was talking about in Miami.

Scheduled to perform were JAUZ, Pete Tong, DJ Snake, Krewella, Nicky Romero, Porter Robinson (Live), David Guetta, Kygo, and Skrillex, on top of dozens of other dance music acts.

Beginning the surprises for the day were Krewella, who played with a live band and showed the world their new style. It was a clear attempt to show the world that they’re fusing elements of metal music with dance music and distancing themselves slightly from their formerly exclusive hardcore dance music roots.

Next up to the table was Cashmere Cat, who ended his set at the Worldwide Stage with a surprise vocal performance from Ariana Grande. Although it wasn’t a complete stretch of the imagination that Ariana might show up given that the two have worked together on several tracks, it still amazed the crowd as the sea of attendees all had their phones in the air to record the moment.

The finale of surprises from the weekend came from the Main Stage closing set by Skrillex. The surprises started early as just moments into the set it was revealed as a surprised Jack U set when the duo’s second member Diplo hit the decks. After a few of their own tracks together, a slew of special guests performed to close out the performance including Kiesza, P. Diddy, and Justin Bieber among others. Skrillex even took to the microphone to sing live for a moment.

The slew of special guests was the perfect end to a special weekend at one of the largest electronic music festivals in the world. As attendees exited the festival, they were greeted by a banner announcing the dates for Ultra 2016 – March 18, 19 and 20.
